Amazon’s Premium A+ Content feature is no longer invite-only. It’s a step up from the basic Enhanced Product Description we all know and love, but what is it and are you eligible?
First things first: What does A+ Content include?
There are various content selections in the A+ content section you can choose from that helps your brand stand out.
Enhanced Product Description
Enhanced Product Description is a digital, visual brochure that promotes the benefits and key features of your product in an appealing way, like a digital poster. It’s also a space to freely advertise other products from your catalogue through the Comparison Table module.
There are two different types of EPD you can choose from; basic or premium.
Basic: You can create up to 5 modules of enhanced content to highlight the features of your product.
Premium: Upgrade to a 7-module limit which includes video capability, larger images, and interactive experiences.
Brand Story
You can connect 1 brand story to all ASINs in the catalogue. You are able to add your brand logo, brand description, links to your products and answer questions in a Brand Story, which appears above the Enhanced Product Description.
What is the Premium Enhanced Product Description?
Premium is an upgrade on basic, with two extra modules of enhanced content available and wider content modules than basic.
You can add interactive modules such as adding hub spots and videos, making them more engaging and informative for the customer.
You can see the difference between the two below, which is in perspective.
A great solution for more complicated products is the Hotspots module, which is part of the premium feature, as they allow for extra information to be included.
For example, the hotspot module is the perfect place to provide extra information about a product with 5 different protective layers, without making the EPD appear text-heavy. The customer simply hovers over each spot and the information appears.
Who is eligible for premium Enhanced Product Description?
As we mentioned, it’s no longer an invitation-only feature. Hurrah! You can use the premium enhanced product description if you meet the following criteria:
- 15 approved basic EPD in the last 12 months
- A Brand Story connected to all of your ASINs
Our perspective
It’s extremely important to have some form of A+ Content on your listing to improve conversion rates. With the holiday season coming up, Amazon is an incredibly competitive market, and everything counts. Having Premium A+ Content is a way to stand out from the crowd and might push the consumer towards you over a competitor, so if you are eligible for it, go for it!
